Natural
Wood products
With proper care, Exotic Bathrooms cabinetry will provide years of use and satisfaction. Proper care involves attentive cleaning, polishing and careful avoidance of damaging household cleaners.
Our cabinets represent the careful selection of woods, and laminated MDF panels. While every effort is made to match wood-grain as closely as possible, no two pieces of wood are exactly alike, even from the same tree. These differences in colour and grain mean that each piece will respond differently to the finishing materials used. For example, closed-grain woods absorb less and will vary in colour from more open-grained pieces from the very same tree. It's these variations that contribute to the beauty and distinction of quality wood products. However, exposure to sunlight, smoke, and chemicals may cause some materials to fade or vary from their original color over time.
This is why cabinets or accessories added at a later date may not exactly match cabinets installed now. For the same reasons, displays may not represent the exact colour of cabinets received at the time of shipment. You should also read all cleaning-agent instructions carefully before application.
Because of these natural and environmental factors, you'll understand why Exotic Bathrooms cannot be responsible for naturally occurring changes experienced by the wood in your cabinets.
So enjoy the character of your Exotic Bathrooms cabinets. They are truly unique. And with proper care, they will age beautifully for years to come. Photography is for illustration purposes only, and actual colours may vary slightly due to the printing process. Exotic Bathrooms also reserves the right to change or modify cabinets as part of its ongoing product development.

Wood Cabinet Surfaces
As with all wood products, avoid excessive moisture. Exotic Bathrooms cabinetry
is designed for use inside the home or other buildings and is not intended for
outdoor applications. Once your cabinets have been installed, wipe down all
exteriors with a damp cloth to remove dust. Complete a small area at a time
and wipe dry. Wood cabinetry finishes may be cleaned and protected by using
any commercially available cleaning polish. Exotic Bathrooms recommends an emulsion-type
cleaner. These are formulated without wax, petroleum solvents or silicones.
The extended use of wax polishes can result in a wax film buildup, while the
use of silicone polishes can harm the cabinet's finish.
Avoid using cleaners that contain the following:
bleach, ammonia, citrus products, organic solvents; harsh detergents, strong
soaps, abrasive cleansers; or self-polishing waxes (particularly products that
contain silicone). We do not recommend using paste wax because of the “build
up” and “yellowing” effects over time. We do recommend the
use of a high-quality cream furniture polish.
Cleaning Agents
Avoid spray-type polishes containing petroleum solvents, as they are flammable
and toxic if swallowed. Use a damp cloth when cleaning normal household spills.
After wiping thoroughly, dry the surface with a lint-free cotton cloth. For
stubborn stains, it may be necessary to use a mild detergent with warm water.
Always dry the surface immediately.
Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or powdered cleansers.
NOTE: Do not use a dish cloth to wipe your cabinet exterior, since it may contain remnants of grease or detergents.
Everyday Care
It is important to wipe up spills and water marks as they occur. Give special
attention to areas around the basin. Avoid draping damp or wet dish towels over
the door of the cabinet. Over time, this moisture can cause permanent water
damage.
Avoid Chips and Scratches
Avoid the use of abrasive cleansers and cleaning tools. Some “stiff”
paper towels may leave tiny scratches that dull the surface. Always use a soft
cloth when cleaning all surfaces. Never use a counter top as a cutting surface.
Fine scratches may be covered with a light spray furniture polish.
Periodically Reseal the Surface
Occasionally use mineral or vegetable oil to reseal and help preserve your wood
panels. Reseal only the area which you frequently use. After extended periods
of use, it may become necessary to refinish the wood panels. Sand off the finish
and reseal using a clear Poly-Urethane protective finish. Wood stain may also
need to be re-applied prior to sealing to match panel colours in worn areas.
It is normal for coloured (stained) wood panels to become more worn (and lighter
in colour) toward the edges of panels.
